Panthers Host First Sold Out Broadcasting School Last Night At BB&T Center
Panthers conducted an interactive class involving aspects of television, radio, social media and game presentation
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Florida Panthers hosted its first sold out Broadcasting School last night from 7-9pm at the BB&T Center. Thirty students aged 12 to 21 attended and were given curriculums and diplomas upon completion. There is currently a waiting list for the next Panthers Broadcast School, date to be announced. Interested fans can call 954-835-8471 to put their names on the list.
“It was both exciting and rewarding to host these students last night and teach them about the world of professional sports broadcasting and media,” said VP of Broadcasting and radio play-by-play commentator Randy Moller. “Students were able to see those aspects of the business firsthand and engage in interactive experiences and the feedback we have gotten thus far has been tremendous.”
Students learned about Panthers television, radio, social media, and game presentation. Students were able to direct a “live” FS Florida segment with Steve Goldstein and Bill Lindsay as well as a “live” broadcast with Kevin Rogers from the WQAM radio booth. They also got a tour of the production studio and equipment and conducted an intermission interview with a Panthers personality. Finally, students learned how NHL team websites are strategically created and how social media plays a huge part in fan communications and promotions.
The instructors included Randy Moller (VP of Broadcasting/ radio play-by-play commentator), Steve Goldstein (Panthers TV play-by-play commentator), Bill Lindsay (Panthers TV analyst), Frank Forte (Panthers Feature reporter), Kevin Rogers (Panthers radio pre-game, intermission, and post-game host), Pete Soto (Sr. Director of Presentation and Production), Glenn Odebralski (Sr. Manager of Panthers website and social media department) and Brett Rowley (Graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting).
