Panthers To Open 48-Game Schedule Jan. 19 Vs. Carolina

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers in conjunction with the National Hockey League today announced their 48-game regular season schedule. Florida opens the season on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host their Southeast Division rivals the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. The Panthers will unveil their first Southeast Division Championship banner prior to their home opener and every fan in attendance will receive a commemorative mini-banner.

Under the revised 48-game schedule format the Panthers will play Southeast division foes Tampa Bay (two home/three road) and Winnipeg (three home/ two road) five times and Carolina (two home/two road) and Washington (two home/two road) four times. Florida will play the remainder of their Eastern Conference opponents three times, with the Panthers hosting Montreal, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo twice at the BB&T Center this season. Florida will not face any Western Conference teams during the regular season.

The Panthers have unveiled two new marketing campaigns “Get It On” and “7th Man” that will be prevalent in all of the Panthers’ marketing and media outlets including outdoor, in-arena, television, radio, print, online, and more.

In addition, “7th Man” will include a number of unique experiential opportunities for fans and season ticket holders to watch and take part in throughout the season. These opportunities, which will take place as part of Panthers home games, as well as other off-site events, will be announced in the build-up to Opening Night, during the Panthers home opener, and over the course of the season.

The “7th Man” will also play a major role in the game presentation for Cats home games as fans support the team during their Division title defense.
