2. Leafs Take Over: Florida had their opportunities early in the second as they outshot the Leafs by a 9-2 advantage at one point but the Leafs got their first power play of the night off a Tomas Fleischmann hooking call midway through and Nazem Kadri took a pass from Dion Phaneuf to score for a two-goal lead at the 12:13 mark. Then Clarke MacArthur gave them a three goal lead off a pass from Kadri 1:44 later. For a period that was up in the air for the half the period, head coach Kevin Dineen pointed out the Panthers power play attempt 6:21 into the second as a huge let down and a possibility in really turning the momentum in the visitor's favor. The Cats weren't able to get a shot on net while the Leafs threw five on Theodore including the all-important second goal of the game. 3. A Sour End: Coming off a successful road trip, the Panthers were looking to take that momentum into their home stand. After three tough overtime losses to open up their home stand, they followed it up with the ending like they did against Toronto. After getting some good scoring opportunities on Scrivens through the first half of the game, the Cats seemed to be out of it. They did get 12 shots in the third period but by then the game was at 3-0 and the home crowd let them know their displeasure. Florida will look to find the right mix into turning this around as they head away from the BB&T Center for two games in Pennsylvania. |

Memorable twitter posts from the game.
@caitlinchris: The @FlaPanthers hit a goalie on a hot streak. And while I'm glad for said goalie, I just wish it hadn't been on the Panthers! @Uruguayo21: @FlaPanthers my intentions are not to be negative but it's hard to be this passionate about the cats and stay positive when we lose so much! @BrunoAKSG: The good thing about my @FlaPanthers is that we havent been great but we are only 5 points away from winning the division. Lets support them @amydangelo: that game was a tad depressing #flapanthers @_DaraRoss: Oy #FlaPanthers why can't we win!!! |

Memorable fan posts from the game.
Tj Gardungle: Ugh. It's getting ugly. Patrick Politix OBrien: can't seem to solve any problems this year so far.... still Panther strong! Kyle Pehlke: Another loss. I love the Panthers, but this is getting ridiculous. Just one win would be nice. Lars Bernotat: When you follow two five-goal-games with being shutout the next game, consistency definitely seems to be a problem ! Rich Bedford: They played about 30 good minutes of hockey, followed by 30 bad minutes. Usually equals a loss. Gave up way too many quality chances yet again. |

1. Florida had three power play chances but the man advantage units had little to show for it as they were able to get just one shot in their six minutes of opportunities. |
