Panthers Prospect Vincent Trocheck Captures OHL Scoring Title
Trocheck is first American to win scoring title since Patrick Kane
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment today announced that Florida Panthers prospect Vincent Trocheck has won the Ontario Hockey League scoring title with 109 points on 50 goals and 59 assists in 63 games. Trocheck, a Pittsburgh native, is the first American to win the title since Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane in 2006-07.
Trocheck started the season with the Saginaw Spirit where he recorded 50 points (24-26-50) in 35 games. He was then traded to the Plymouth Whalers where he recorded 59 points (26-33-59) in 28 games played. He finished the season with the league leading 109 points (50-59-109) in 63 games.
Trocheck, 19, was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round (No. 64 overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
