Panthers Prospect Corban Knight Named a Finalist for Hobey Baker Award
Knight joins past North Dakota finalists such as Zach Parise and T.J. Oshie

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment today announced that Florida Panthers Prospect and Univeristy of North Dakota center Corban Knight has been named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, an honor given to the top ice hockey player in the NCAA.
Knight, 22, is one of ten players to be named a finalist for the Hobey Baker. The finalists will be cut down to three on Apr. 3, with the winner being announced Friday, April 12 during the NCAA Frozen Four. Past North Dakota players to be named finalists for the award include current NHL forwards Zach Parise (Minnesota Wild) and TJ Oshie (St Louis Blues).
The High River, ALTA native has spent his collegiate career playing for North Dakota. Playing in his senior year, the 6-foot-1 center has averaged 1.23 points a game, leading North Dakota with 33 assists and finishing second on the team in points with 48 (15-33-48) in 39 games played. Knight is ranked eighth among all NCAA players in points and tied for second in assists. He leads the country with 24 first assists and has recorded points in 31 games, more than any other player. In his four years at North Dakota, Knight has played in 159 games and has recorded 145 points (51-94-145).
Knight was selected by Florida in the fifth round (135th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
