SSE SVP Steve Ziff Named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 2013 Fort Lauderdale Man of the Year\u2028

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that SSE Sr. Vice President of Marketing & Brand Strategy Steve Ziff was recently named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2013 Fort Lauderdale Man of the Year after raising more than $100,000 for the fight against blood cancers. Ziff earned the honor at the Journey of Hope Grand Finale Celebration on Saturday, June 8, at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty Six in Fort Lauderdale.

In total, the 2013 Man & Woman of the Year Fort Lauderdale campaign raised more than $360,000 — with Ziff’s campaign raising almost one third of the total amount. As part of the 2013 Fort Lauderdale Man & Woman of the Year campaign, 10 men and five women raised funds during the 10-week competition. Candidates were judged solely on their fundraising efforts — each dollar raised comprises one vote.

“I am so humbled to be named Man of the Year and am very grateful to all of those who continue to give their time, money and passion to this great cause,” said Ziff. “This fundraiser has been near to my heart for several years, and I’m so thankful to all the selfless people involved in this rewarding competition.”

Ziff expressed his close ties with the fight against blood cancer on his fundraising page, describing his son Cade’s successful cardiac surgery that healed his congenital ailments, but noting that many children do not have as positive of an experience. Ziff is the second consecutive Man of the Year winner with Florida Panthers ties. The Panthers have been supporters of LLS for the past four years, raising more than $500,000 during that time. Panthers President Michael Yormark also served as the Walk Chair for the 2010 and 2011 Light the Night Walks in Broward County for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

“We’re incredibly proud of Steve and his efforts towards the fight against blood cancers, as well as that of the entire Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,” said Yormark. “The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a distinguished effort to fight this terrible disease, and we will continue to encourage our staff to get involved in this amazing fundraiser.”
