Panthers To Open Development Camp On July 8

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that the club will hold its’ annual development camp from Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12 at the JetBlue Practice Facility at the Saveology.com Iceplex in Coral Springs.

Panthers prospects expected to attend the camp include Florida’s first round draft choices from each of their last four seasons, including: F Aleksander Barkov (No. 2/2013), D Michael Matheson (No. 23/2012), F Jonathan Huberdeau (No. 3/2011), F Nick Bjugstad (No. 19/2010) and F Quinton Howden (No. 25/2010).

“We have assembled a great group of our prospects, including several of our first round draft choices, who will participate in a weeklong camp that gives them the opportunity to learn about the commitment that is required to play at the National Hockey League level,” said Florida Panthers Executive V.P. & General Manager Dale Tallon. “Our staff, led by Director of Player Development Brian Skrudland, has put together a comprehensive week that includes four days of on-ice training, as well as off-ice sessions, that stress the importance of strength and conditioning, nutrition, team work and all things associated with being a professional athlete.”

 A complete development camp schedule is listed below.

Media interviews will be conducted at the conclusion of all on-ice sessions:

Monday, July 8 – Power Skating (1:30 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.)
Tuesday, July 9 – Practice (9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
Wednesday, July 10 – No on-ice session (beach workout & Miami Marlins game)
Thursday, July 11 – Practice (9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
Friday, July 12 – Skills/Scrimmage competition (9 a.m. – 11 a.m.)
