Height: 6'0" Weight: 178
Born: 6/20/96 Born In: Holland Landing, ON, CAN
Bennett was named the top North American skater in Central Scouting’s mid-term and final prospect rankings thanks in large part to his 2013-14 season with the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL where he accumulated 91 points (36-55-91) in 57 games while adding nine more tallies (5-4-9) in seven playoff games on his way to being named the Canadian Hockey League’s top prospect in the league.

Bennett has been lauded for his hockey smarts, his excellent hands, and his quick shot. His game has been compared to that of Hall of Famer and current Frontenacs General Manager, Doug Gilmour. Not a bad comparison for the potential number one overall draft pick.

NHL Central Scouting's David Gregory: "He plays the kind of game you think cannot be sustained for a whole season because it’s a high-energy game and compete game at all ends of the ice. He ends up playing that game for the whole year and has led his team. He just never stops, and put that with the skill package he has and how well he thinks the game, he’s pretty much a top-notch player."

Frontenacs' Bennett Named Top CHL Prospect
(05.24.14) There might not be a consensus top pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, but the Canadian Hockey League award voters made their choice Saturday, naming Samuel Bennett the top prospect in the league.

Bennett, a center with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League, was ninth in the OHL with 91 points in 57 games. He led his team in points, goals (36), assists (55), plus/minus rating (plus-34) and power-play goals (10). He had a league-best 25-game scoring streak in which he scored 17 goals and 46 points.

Kingston's Bennett Turns Focus To NHL Draft
(04.16.14) Kingston Frontenacs center Samuel Bennett watched with great interest the Florida Panthers win the NHL Draft Lottery in Toronto.

Bennett is No. 1 on NHL Central Scouting's final list of the top North American skaters eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft.
