C Derek MacKenzie Agrees to Three-Year Contract with Florida Panthers
Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with C Derek MacKenzie.
MacKenzie, 33, has played in 307 career National Hockey League games for Atlanta (2001-2007) and Columbus (2007-2014), scoring 31 goals with 40 assists and 175 penalty minutes. He played a NHL career-best 71 games during the 2013-2014 season with Columbus, registering 18 points (9-9-18) and 47 penalty minutes.
The Sudbury, Ontario native was drafted in the sixth round (128th overall) in the 1999 NHL Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.
