JOHN URIBE, M.D. MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Orthopedic Surgeon - UHZ Sports Medicine Institute
Dr. John Uribe is an Orthopedic surgeon in Coral Gables, Florida. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his residency in Orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami and subsequently a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Hughston Clinic. He came to Miami from the U.S. Army where he served as Lt. Colonel and Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center. Dr. Uribe is a professor and Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at Florida International University College of Medicine and amember of the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Uribe has been the team physician for the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Marlins. He is a member of multiple professional organizations and societies. KEITH S. HECHTMAN, M.D.
Orthopedic Surgeon - UHZ Sports Medicine Institute
Dr. Keith Hechtman is Board-certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He practices at Doctor’s Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida. Dr. Hechtman is a Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the Florida International University College of Medicine. He is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in the School of Medicine as a Clinical Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise & Sports Sciences at the University of Miami. Dr. Hechtman is a founding partner of UHZ Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Hechtman is the head team physician for Florida International University and a team physician for the Florida Panthers Hockey team. He is the team physician for many local high schools and helped coordinate the Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ sports program for the last 20 years. Dr. Hechtman also serves as clinical instructor for physician’s assistants and athletic trainers at Barry University and Nova Southeastern University. He served as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. military’s Operation Desert Storm, where he was awarded multiple commendation medals. He was a physician for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He is an active member of many professional societies and is highly regarded for his numerous publications and presentations about injuries of the throwing athlete and ligamentous injuries to the knee. Currently, he is actively involved in using growth factor treatments for tendon injuries. Dr. Hechtman has been chosen as one of the “Best Doctors in America” multiple times since 2003. |

GAUTAM P. YAGNIK, M.D.
Orthopedic Surgeon - UHZ Sports Medicine Institute
Dr. Gautam Yagnik is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee. Dr. Yagnik has been named associate director of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at the new UHZ Sports Medicine Institute location at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. He was recently appointed clinical assistant professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Florida International University College of Medicine. He previously served as assistant team physician for the University Miami and Florida International University. He has provided orthopedic coverage for the BCS National Championship Game, the FedEx Orange Bowl and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Dr. Yagnik earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated at the top of his class andwas elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During medical school, he performed surgical research that yielded two prestigious grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Yagnik completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Howard Bush has worked with the Florida Panthers since their inception in 1993 where he attended the first training camp under the direction of Coach Roger Neilson. He is an internventional cardiologist and Associate Chief of staff at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Cleveland Clinic in Florida is amulti-specialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. Cleveland Clinic in Florida has over 150 physicians with expertise in 35 specialties. Dr. Bush has been with the group since 1992 and his clinical interests include invasive and interventional cardiology, risk factor management, and coronary artery disease. Dr. Bush is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology. He and his wife Eva, D.D.S., have three children Aaron, Leah, and Elana. |

DAVID WESTERDAHL, M.D.

David N. Westerdahl, MD, has been a Staff Physician for the Department of Orthopedics at Cleveland Clinic Florida since 2004. He is the Director of Medical Sports Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr Westerdahl completed his Doctor of Medicine Degree at Loma Linda University in 2000. After finishing his residency in Family Medicine at Florida Hospital in Orlando, he served a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic’s main campus in Cleveland, Ohio. With a background in primary care and sports medicine, Dr. Westerdahl manages a wide range of non-operative orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. He is the Director of Sports Medicine for the USTA Player Development Center in Boca Raton, Florida. He served as the Director for Sports Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. His specialty interests include sports injuries, medical orthopedics, exercise related medical conditions, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and concussions. In his spare time, Dr. Westerdahl enjoys spending time with his family and participating in multisport events. |

He has operated a private dental practice in Coral Springs for more than 20 years, and recently opened "Robins Dental Associates" in Boca Raton. While practicing all phases of dentistry, Dr. Robins specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry, utilizing the latest in laser, implant, and digital technology. A graduate of the N.Y.U. School of Dentistry, Dr. Robins earned his undergraduate degree at Union College in Schenectady, NY. After earning his degree in dentistry, he went on to complete a General Practice Dental Residency at Booth Memorial Medical Center in New York. Nicholas Ruggiero, D.C., enters his ninth season as the Panthers’ official chiropractor. He began his education at the University of Miami and completed his B.S. in human biology and doctorate in chiropractic medicine at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles in 1988, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In 1989, he was certified in physical therapy by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. FRANK CONIDI D.O., M.S.
Neurologist
Dr. Conidi is a graduate of Boston University, Boston University School of Medicine and Nova/Southeastern University College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Tuft’s University’s St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, his residency at Boston University School of Medicine’s Boston City and University Hospitals, and received additional training in headache through the Harvard affiliated Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals. He is currently the Director of the Florida Center for Headache and Sports Neurology, which specializes in the treatment of Sports Concussion, Headache and Sports Related neurological disorders. He joined the Panthers in 2008 and has served as a consulting neurologist for the, USTA, NYMets and St. Lucie Cardinals (major and minor league teams). Dr. Conidi holds an academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at Florida State University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology Sports Neurology Executive Committee and Concussion committee, and is a co-author of the American Academy of Neurology Concussion Guidelines. ILIYA BEYLIN, D.P.M., F.A.C.F.A.S.

Dr. Iliya Beylin received his undergraduate education from the University of Miami. He graduated in 1995 with a major in psychology and minors in chemistry and mathematics. He started his medical education at New York College of Podiatric Medicine and then transferred to Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences. Because of academic achievements he was on President’s roll and Academic Dean’s list multiple times. Dr. Beylin graduated with honors in 1999. From 1999 to 2002 Dr. Beylin received his post-graduate training from Cooper Hospital/ UMC in Camden, NJ. During the 3 years of surgical residency he had extensive hands-on experience with trauma of the lower extremity, sports medicine, reconstructive surgery and diabetic limb salvage. Dr. Beylin is board certified in foot and ankle surgery since 2006. He is board certified in foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Beylin is a Fellow of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He specializes in sports medicine, trauma of the lower extremity, ankle replacement, reconstructive surgery, revisional surgery, surgical and non surgical treatments of many conditions of the foot and ankle in children and adults. Dr. Beylin constantly attends conferences, workshops and lectures around the country in order to learn the latest treatment techniques. His postgraduate training list is extensive. It includes such surgical treatment methods as ankle arthroscopy, application of external fixation in trauma and reconstructive surgery, ankle replacement and laser treatment. Dr. Beylin has two sons, ages 8 and 10. His hobbies include sports, music and reading. |
