That's A Win!
| After falling in Game 1 at the BankAtlantic Center, the Panthers got off to a blazing start as Stephen Weiss scored a power play goal 23 seconds into Game 2 and the team never looked back in earning their first playoff victory since 1997 with a 4-2 win on Apr. 15. Rats rained down as Tomas Fleischmann iced it with an empty netter at the buzzer. |
Coming Back On The Devils
| Like most of the series against the Devils, Florida found themselves on the trailing end thanks to an early hole. In Game 3 at the Prudential Center, the Panthers trailed by three goals just 6:16 into the contest. A goaltending change and the power play earned them their second three-goal comeback victory over the Devils in the season. Two power play goals in the first got the game to 3-2 and then after Mike Weaver tied the game 2:18 into the second, Brian Campbell would knot the eventual game-winner on their third power play of the night 6:34 into the second. |
| |
A Sudden End
| The Panthers' season comes to an end, with a 3-2 home playoff loss to New Jersey on April 26. The loss comes on a bitter note as trailing by two after two, they get two power play goals to force a sudden death situation. After playing through a full twenty minutes of overtime, a second one is needed and Adam Henrique ends the Cats season 3:47 into the second one. |
