POSITION TITLE:    Director, New Business Development
DEPARTMENT:        Corporate Partnerships
REPORTS TO:         Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships, the Director is responsible for all corporate sales and activities related to conceptualizing, implementing and directing sales and marketing strategies, and initiatives for the corporate partners, including the Panthers, the BB&T Center, Media Sales and other properties that may be pursued by Sunrise Sports & Entertainment.   Primary responsibilities include developing strategic alliances for corporate partners within the Sunrise Sports & Entertainment family of brands, which are fully integrated, long-term and focused on the unique objectives and priorities of each individual partner.

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:
  • Responsible to increase revenue for the BB&T Center and the Florida Panthers through the sale of partnership packages, Panthers promotional packages, BB&T Center events and various media packages.
  • Increase existing business while generating new opportunities through the delivery of sales presentations for the Florida Panthers, BB&T Center and Saveology.com Iceplex.
  • Establish, build and manage client relationships through prospecting and lead development projects.
  • Assist the sales process from discovery to account development, negotiations and closing.
  • Responsible for inventory management/control.
  • Maintain a network of prospective clients and agency contacts.
  • Assist with Sponsorship renewals and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in Sports Management, Sales or related field required
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of proven and successful sponsorship sales experience
  • Strong prospecting skills, detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
  • Ability to meet challenging sales objectives in a high profile, competitive marketplace
  • Comfortable managing tight deadlines and meeting aggressive sales goals and expectations
  • Exceptional listening, learning and communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain a long-term strategic relationship with corporate clients and co-workers
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Sales driven with an understanding of persistence and aggressiveness
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and specifically PowerPoint Sales force experience a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary
