Blues-Panthers Preview

GAME: St. Louis Blues (24-13-6-1) at Florida Panthers (15-19-10-2).

TIME: Monday, 5 p.m. EST.

After two straight games without a loss, the St. Louis Blues are hoping that they've shaken their recent slump.

The Blues look to remain in the win column as they face the Florida Panthers at the Office Depot Center.

Doug Weight scored on a power play with 1:37 left in the third period Saturday, giving the Blues a 2-2 tie with the Minnesota Wild. The tie came just two nights after a 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, giving St. Louis a 4-7-4 record over their last 15 games.

"We believe in ourselves, and we're going to try to get out of this together," Weight said of his team's recent slide. "Every team goes through this. It's not because guys don't care."

Keith Tkachuk almost got the Blues the win, but his breakaway chance with 1:23 left in overtime was stopped by Minnesota goalie Manny Fernandez.

"I've had liked to see (Tkachuk) score on that breakaway in overtime," coach Joel Quenneville said. "We stayed with it and played the way we had to play."

The Blues have scored 16 goals in their last four games after scoring just 18 in their previous 11.

The Panthers are coming off Saturday's 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, snapping a three-game winless streak (0-2-1). Olli Jokinen scored twice in the third period, and Roberto Luongo stopped 50 shots, the most in the NHL this season, as the Panthers were outshot 51-15.

"I've been feeling good all year," Luongo said. "Some nights the bounces go for you, some nights they don't. Tonight, obviously they did and we got two points."

Florida defenseman Jay Bouwmeester could miss up to six weeks with a broken foot. Bouwmeester injured the foot last Sunday, but continued to play until the fracture not revealed until after the Tampa Bay game.

Rookie center Nathan Horton was also injured last Sunday, and will miss the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.

The Panthers signed free agent forward Donald Audette on Friday and recalled defenseman Lukas Krajicek from San Antonio of the American Hockey League on Sunday.
