The Florida Panthers' power-play unit has been ineffective in recent games, but struggling with the man advantage hasn't stopped them from dominating the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Panthers look to sweep the Flyers in a season series for the first time in their history as the teams meet Tuesday night.

Florida (30-29-13) has won all three meetings against Philadelphia (20-41-11) in 2006-07. The Panthers have succeeded despite going 1-for-14 on the power play, with the lone goal coming in a 3-2 win Oct. 20 - the teams' first meeting.

Florida is also 0-for-18 on the power play in its last five games overall, and has converted just 13.3 percent (13-for-98) of its chances with the man advantage in its last 24 contests.

Philadelphia's opponents, meanwhile, have failed to score a power-play goal in their last seven games, going 0-for-30 in that span.

Olli Jokinen scored two third-period goals in a 1:01 span Saturday night as Florida beat the New York Islanders 8-5 and tied a season-high in goals. The Panthers also had eight goals in the Oct. 6 season opener against Boston.

Jokinen, who also had three assists Saturday to clinch his second career 70-point season, had Florida's only power-play goal against Philadelphia this season. He has nine goals and 16 points in his last 10 games.

He helped the Panthers earn their third win in five games despite giving up five goals for the second straight contest.

"I'd rather take a 2-1 win and play better defense," Jokinen said. "It was a wide-open game and both teams had a lot of chances. It's still two points."

Ville Peltonen also scored two goals for the Panthers, and Rostislav Olesz, Gregory Campbell, Juraj Kolnik and Jozef Stumpel had one apiece.

The Panthers are 8-0-1 when Olesz scores a goal. The second-year forward has one goal and three points this season against the Flyers.

Ed Belfour had 28 saves Saturday in his 23rd consecutive start for Florida, breaking the franchise record set by Roberto Luongo. The 41-year-old netminder began his consecutive games streak on Jan. 20, and is 23-16-8 with a 2.78 goals-against average on the season.

Philadelphia has lost three of four, including a 3-2 defeat to Eastern Conference power Ottawa on Saturday night.

"I think this was a real good test for us," said Flyers goaltender Martin Biron, who stopped 30 shots. "We need to prove we're ready for next season."

Biron is 4-3-1 with a 2.70 GAA in eight games since being acquired in a trade with Buffalo.

Mike Richards and Derian Hatcher scored for Philadelphia in the loss. Hatcher's two goals on the season have come in his last two games, while Richards has four goals and 10 points in his last nine contests.

Flyers forward Scottie Upshall sat out against the Senators due to a shoulder injury suffered in a win over Atlanta on Thursday night, and is expected to miss nearly two weeks.
