Panthers-Bruins Preview
Florida Panthers
By Dave Joseph for floridapanthers.com

BOSTON - Craig Anderson will get the start in goal tonight when the Panthers take the ice against the Bruins at TD Banknorth Garden.

GM and coach Jacques Martin said Tuesday morning Anderson earned his second consecutive start off his 53-save, shutout Sunday evening in Long Island.

“I think the we he played, the way he’s played lately, he deserves to play,” said Martin of Anderson, who has stopped 65 consecutive shots dating back to his 2-1 overtime victory Feb. 23 against Philadelphia.

The Panthers play a Bruins team this evening that was embarrassed Monday night in Washington 10-2. The Bruins coach Claude Julien, who had his team stay in a hotel upon their arrival Monday night from Washington due to their 6-7 record upon returning from away games, said his team “didn’t react to how desperate (Washington was).”

“We’ve got to make sure we bounce back tonight,” Julien said. “Why would you keep dwelling on it? You couldn’t ask for a better scenario than this (game) after what happened (Monday) night. We’ve got an opportunity to put it aside.”

Martin said it will be important for the Panthers to “be prepared to come out hard and set the tempo.”

Olli Jokinen agreed.

“We have to go after them,” he said. “They got spanked last night. We know the first 10 minutes they’re really going to come after us.”

Martin said Radek Dvorak (finger) and Noah Welch (shoulder) are still not ready to dress for game action. Martin said he’d have a better feeling when Dvorak will return this weekend after Wednesday’s practice. Welch, who’s played only four games after separating his shoulder, will probably be out another week.

“It’s more difficult for him,” Martin said. “He’s basically missed the whole year.”

Martin said Chad Kilger remains back in Canada due to “personal issues.” Martin said there’s “a lot of work being done at this point” to get the Kilger issue resolved.

NOTE
Alex Auld will start in goal for the Bruins…Defenseman Aaron Ward is out for the B’s, Bobby Allen is in…
