CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Jarome Iginla put on the type of scoring display Calgary fans are used to seeing from him only on television this season.

Iginla scored two goals and added an assist, and the Flames scored three times in the third period to beat the Florida Panthers 4-2 on Saturday night. Iginla entered having scored just two of his 15 goals at the Pengrowth Saddledome. He doubled that total against the Panthers.

"It feels good," Iginla said. "I love playing here at the Saddledome and this first half of the season. I haven't been able to produce very much or contribute too many wins here."

Calgary trailed 2-1 when a slap shot by Iginla led to Dean McAmmond's tying goal 47 seconds into the third period.

McAmmond got to the blue line and dropped the puck for Iginla, who took three strides in and fired a slap shot that Roberto Luongo saved with his blocker but McAmmond was right there to bury the rebound.

After Chris Clark's go-ahead goal at 5:15 on a rising slap shot from 40 feet out, Iginla sealed the win with his second of the night at 12:09.

"Jarome Iginla's a special player and that's what he does, that's why he makes the money he does," Panthers coach Rick Dudley said.

Dudley was also impressed with the Flames' defense.

"That defense is probably the most NHL's most underrated defense, maybe one of the top two or three defenses in the National Hockey League," Dudley said.

Calgary snapped a four-game winless streak at home.

"It was a very important win for us to get back to winning on home ice," said Iginla, who had nine shots. "The first wasn't a great period for us, but we were able to get it going after that."

Rookie Nathan Horton had his fourth goal in four games, and Kristian Huselius also scored for Florida, which led 2-1 lead after one period.

"We were able to hold the fort for the first 40 minutes, but they really came hard in the third period and took over," Panthers captain Olli Jokinen said. "They definitely outplayed us in the third period and you could tell they really wanted the win."

Calgary outshot Florida 13-3 in the final period, and 38-23 overall.

Florida opened the scoring on Horton's power-play goal at 4:53 of the first period.

Iginla tied it on a short-handed goal at 6:20 after Jokinen turned the puck over on a power play. Lynn Loyns intercepted Jokinen's pass inside the Panthers' blue line, and Loyns took a slap shot that went off Luongo's chest and bounced to Iginla, who scored on the rebound.

Florida took a 2-1 lead at 13:28 of the first period when Huselius took a loose puck at center and darted into the Flames' zone on a one-on-one and fired a shot past Jamie McLennan.
